Mother of Pearl is a common term for nacre, the multi-colored iridescent inner layer of oysters and mollusks’ shells created from organic to inorganic composite. This biomineral is also what makes up the outer layering of pearls. Even though it is more common than pearls, it is only found in a portion of mollusks shells. Mother of Pearl is said to harness the healing power of the sea. It is believed to relieve stress, heighten intuition, and offer clarity to help balance emotions.
