However, it gets its distinct pink coloring from an impurity caused by trace amounts of titanium, aluminum, or phosphate. Rose Quartz can be translucent or transparent due to the amount of inclusions of a pink borosilicate mineral, related to the pink variety of the mineral dumortierite.
