Malachite is a green copper carbonate hydroxide mineral with banded white and lighter shades of green. It is formed in bubble-like formations, called botryoidal structures as well as formations shaped like cones, called stalactites. Malachite was used as a mineral pigment in green paint from before the Middle Ages up until the early 1800s. It is used for a variety of artistic purposes, including vases and structures. Malachite, known as a stone of growth and positivity, is said to help dispel negative thought patterns. It is said to be beneficial for new relationships and forging new paths.
