Agate is a rock formation composed mostly of quartz and chalcedony amongst other components, creating a rock with colorful layers. They are formed in metamorphic rocks as well as within volcanic rock, sometimes creating beautiful stripes and patterns. Agates come in a variety of colors and can be solid or patterned. Agate is known as a stone of strength, said to enhance intellect and foster creativity. It is believed to bring good luck.
